Environment Artist for Stylized game
Creating stylized environments in a new fantasy IP. What's not to love?!
Why you want to be an Environment Artist at Chief Rebel
As an experienced Environment Artist, you will create a wide range of stylized environments from mystical forests to floaty mountains. We believe in gameplay first and take collective responsibility for the game. For you, that means working with our Game Directors, Designers, Character Artists, Animators, and other Artists. Together we iterate until our environments look and play as intended. You will help define our universe and bring our dungeons to life.
About the role
This is not an entry-level position, the ideal candidates have multiple years of industry experience working with similar games or genres (MOBA, MMORPG, ARPG) or are able to identify what makes them read and work well. You are proficient in industry-standard modeling and texturing tools (Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter), workflows, and how to build levels in a sustainable way. Your ideas, artistic sensibilities, and understanding of what our game needs are as important as your artistic/technical skills. You have strong art/game art fundamentals: Composition, Shaders, Light, Material, Silhouette, Proportions, and Color. You find joy in sharing your knowledge and mentoring others, you embrace and act on the feedback you receive, and have a collaborative mindset.
